Liberty in North KoreaLiberty in North Korea (LiNK) is a non-profit human rights group dedicated to empowering the North Korean people in achieving their liberty. LiNK sends field coordinators to meet with North Koreans that have crossed the border into China. They help these refugees along a 3,000-mile journey to Southeast Asia and ultimately South Korea or the United States where LiNK continues to help these refugees resettle. Our Rescue TeamTexas A&M's Rescue Team began in the spring of 2018. At LiNK TAMU, we know that the Aggie Spirit can be a force for good all over the world. One of the Aggie Core Values is selfless service, and we aim to selflessly serve the people of North Korea in their pursuit of freedom. We believe that the North Korean people will be free in our lifetime and that we can help accelerate that change. We invite you to join our organization, attend events, or simply give as much as you can to help the North Korean people. Thanks and gig 'em!

Progress$4,279We have raised over $4,279 since starting at Texas A&M. That is enough money to fully fund one refugee's journey to freedom. We are so proud that we've reached this milestone, but there is more work to be done. We are on track to fund a second rescue by the end of 2020. Donate now to help us aid more North Korean refugees.

The Refugee Predicament
Thousands of North Koreans choose to flee their country every year and cross the border into China. Once across, they are not safe. The Chinese government refuses to recognize North Koreans as refugees. This means that--if caught--refugees will be sent back to North Korea. Return to North Korea means imprisonment in a political prison camp, torture, or even execution for a refugee. North Korean women are often sold into forced marriages or trafficked in the sex trade in China. These women cannot stand up to themselves due to their lack of legal status and the risk of being repatriated to North Korea.
LiNK's field operatives contact these refugees in China and help them along a 3,000-mile-long, modern underground railroad to freedom in South Korea or the United States. Our work as a Rescue Team helps to fund these refugee rescues. To help one refugee reach freedom, food, shelter, and travel expenses amount to $3,000. Through donations and activism, we help these refugees reach freedom and will ultimately help them bring liberty to North Korea.
